What is provided for renters?
We provide a fully stocked kitchen including dishes, utensils, glasses, pots, pans, a coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, gas stove, and two refrigerators. We also provide dish soap, garbage bags, and toilet paper. Bedding and linens are provided for all bedrooms and the sleeping loft. Kitchen towels and bath towels are also provided.
What should I bring?
Please bring paper goods (paper towels, napkins, plates) and soap and shampoo for the bath/shower. Families with very young children should bring their own high chair or pack & play. For lawn games, bring bocce, croquet, or ladder toss sets — the grounds are perfect for it.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, well-behaved pets are welcome! We allow a maximum of 2 pets. A pet fee of $50 applies and must be included at the time of booking.
How many people can the lodge accommodate?
The lodge comfortably sleeps up to 12 guests, and can stretch to 14 with the sleeping loft. There are 5 bedrooms (two queen beds downstairs, one double and one queen upstairs, plus an additional bedroom) plus a sleeping loft with two double beds and two twin beds.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes! We now have Wi-Fi. Please note that bandwidth is limited — it is suitable for browsing and staying connected, but please refrain from streaming movies or large downloads.
Is the lodge available year-round?
Absolutely. Sager Creek Lodge is open year-round. We have peak (May–October) and off-peak (November–April) pricing. Winter stays are wonderful for snowshoeing, hunting, and cozy fireside evenings.
What activities are available on the property?
The property has plenty to keep everyone busy: fishing in the private catch-and-release pond, swimming at the pond's sandy beach, hiking and bird-watching on 40 acres of trails, seasonal hunting, lawn games (horseshoe pit, bocce, croquet), a barn with pool table and ping pong, and an outdoor basketball hoop. Evenings are best spent around the firepit.
Are kayaks available?
Unfortunately, we no longer provide kayaks. You are welcome to bring your own.
What is the cancellation policy?
The booking deposit ($250 for weekend rentals, $500 for all other rentals) is non-refundable. In the event of an emergency cancellation, the deposit may be applied toward a future reservation. Please contact us directly if you have an extenuating circumstance.
Where exactly is the lodge located?
Sager Creek Lodge is in the greater Chautauqua area of western New York — approximately 15 minutes from Bemus Point and Lake Chautauqua, and less than 1.5 hours from Buffalo. Exact directions are provided upon booking.
